Note: This message was sent from the West Virginia Feis Committee to all Note: Letter emailed to all West Virginia feis competitors on 3/5/2010Dear All, This year's 2010 Marty McHugh Award will go to Brenna Hannan from the Murphy Irish Arts in Beachwood, Ohio. Brenna Hannan has been living her dream of Irish dancing for the past thirteen years and we are hoping with your help, she can continue. Just before the 2009 Oireachtas, Brenna collapsed at her college in Michigan and was unconscious upon the arrival of the paramedics. Doctors diagnosed her with a brain bleed caused by a tangle of veins at the base of her brain (AVM). Emergency surgery was performed where a tennis ball-sized clot was removed and the AVM was clamped. Brenna has remained in a coma ever since the surgery. |
