Welcome to the Burke School of Irish Dance, Cleveland, Ohio.
The dancers practice all year round to perform in a Feis. Feis is the Gaelic term for competition. Feisianna are held on Saturdays or Sundays, all year long, at venues all across the United States.
Burke School dancers also love to share their talents at nursing homes, schools, community centers, libraries and at civic events. Dancers of all age and experience levels take the stage to offer a performance that will delight and intrigue all types of people.
We hope to see your child at the Burke School of Irish Dance. Class Cancellations Class changes or cancellations will be posted on the home page at the top right hand corner of the Burke banner. This is done in "real time" and should be checked often in case of inclement weather or last minute schedule changes.

BURKE OPEN ENROLLMENT REGISTRATION
What age dancers do you accept as beginners? The Burke School offers a "pre-beginner class" for children ages 3-5 years old. Children ages 6 and older should start as "beginners." Children who are 5 should start as "pre-beginners." If they seem to be picking up the basic ideas quickly, they can be moved into the beginner class, because age is not the main determiner but how quickly students learn and their stage in physical development. When are classes? Our new classes start in September on the Saturday after Labor Day. From September through May, classes for beginners are on Saturdays, and during the summer, classes are on Thursdays. The pre-beginner class is only offered on Saturdays from September through May and is not offered during the summer. What time are classes? Pre-beginner classes on Saturdays run from 9:45-10:45 am. Beginner classes run on Saturdays from 10:45-11:30 am. What do dancers wear in class? Dancers wear t-shirts, shorts, and socks in class. Pre-beginners and beginners who are not yet sure of their commitment to Irish dancing can wear socks or ballet slippers that can be purchased at dance supply stores. The Burke teachers will provide information about shoes specific to Irish dancing when your child is advanced enough, typically not earlier than 4-6 months after starting. What is the tuition? Tuition is paid on a monthly basis. Tuition for pre-beginners is $25 a month per dancer, and tuition for beginners is $40 a month per dancer. There are discounts for multiple children in one family. **Lessons start Saturday, September 11th along with registration**
